Did you come up with a “Word for the Year” in 2022? Like resolutions, most people have already fallen off the Word Wagon. Statistics vary but people usually have already given up on their resolutions for the year by the end of January. I would imagine the number is similar for commitments to a word of the year. The good news is, it’s not too late to re-commit to that Word of the Year that you were probably very proud of coming up with. Here are some questions to consider:
How’s your word working for you thus far? Is it still a word you can get behind for the year?
If so, in what ways are you integrating it into your daily commitments and/or actions?
How is it serving you in your business?
If it has fallen by the way side, is it still important to you as you move through the year? If yes, what will you do to get back on track? If no, why not?
Consider again why you chose the word and how can you make it more visible.
Can you ask a friend/colleague to be an accountability partner to help keep you on track?
Do you need a business coach?
Personally, I have selected a Word for almost 10 years now and I have found it to be extremely beneficial for keeping me on track. My Word this year is FEARLESS and at the end of every day, I consider how I applied that word for the day or during challenging moments, I ask myself if I am proceeding in alignment with my Word. It is on a sticky note on my computer so I see it daily. I also have an accountability partner who challenges me to do the hard things. Now I know that having a Word of the Year is not for everyone. But if you did take the time to think about it and select one, what would it do for you to go all in? Need an accountability partner, or coach? Let’s talk!
